Always look for firmly packed, crisp leaves without soft spots, discolouration or cracks. All cabbage should be kept chilled in a plastic bag for up to 2 weeks.

Always use a stainless steel knife when prepping cabbage, as carbon steel will turn the edges of white cabbage black and red cabbage blue.

The beautiful and unusual Romanesco should be bagged and stored in a chilled environment for up to 3 days for optimum freshness.

Broccolini, the delicious hybrid between broccoli and our humble kailan, should be stored in a perforated plastic bag and refrigerated for up to 1 week.
